beautifully Human

It is part of the human experience to feel pain,

to feel sorrow,

to feel sadness, desolation, confusion, bewilderment, pain, suffering and all of those emotions that we would rather not feel,

The emotions that ignite angst and anxiety in the pit of our stomachs, that bring us to our knees,

and sit heavy on our chest making it hard to breathe,

The ones that gnaw at our hearts, race in our minds, and steal our sleep, wellbeing, and peace of mind….

those emotions; those horrible and paralyzing emotions, that often cast shadows so big and dark that they prevent us from seeing the light at the end of the tunnel,

are the very emotions that teach us the most & remind us what it is like to be human, to be beautifully human

So the next time such emotions appear like a dark storm cloud that won’t let up;

and your chest grows heavy and aches and your mind begins to drown in all of your fears, faults, & flaws, remember that fear is a liar.

Remember that you have been here before and you’ve survived.

Remember that you are enough, you are SO enough.

Actively and consciously acknowledge that emotional pain is JUST as valid as physical pain and please NEVER be ashamed of it.

Please know that;

You are allowed to feel your feelings.

Your emotions are valid.

YOU are allowed to need, to help, to cry, and to mess up.

You’re allowed to fail.

You have permission to fall down, to fall apart.

You have permission to break and crumble and feel like you don’t even know what you’re doing.

You have permission to feel everything you feel.

So feel it, let it crash over you like waves and soon enough you’ll come home to yourself.

You’ll find your way.

You’ll see that everything you felt made you, YOU.

Perhaps even a stronger, better, wiser, braver, softer, more beautiful you.

And always remember, you’re not only human…

you are BEAUTIFULLY human

and just as

the winter has the courage to turn into spring,

and

the night has the courage to turn into day,

YOU have the courage to face and overcome such dark, heavy, and seemingly paralyzing emotions....

After all,

even the sun cannot shine the for the entire day;

even the clouds rain it out when things get heavy.
