NOTE: This was written in January on the Tuesday following the death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and friends. It was with their passing in mind, that we wrote this post. It was originally titled "TUESDAY." You’ll understand why were telling you this once you’ve finished reading, enjoy <3
Today is Tuesday and you should celebrate it wholeheartedly
Call it: Terrific Tuesday
Tip Tuesday
Taco Tuesday
Totally freaking awesome Tuesday
or
just call it Tuesday,
because regardless of what you call it,
the mere fact that you’re alive, & reading this post, & have to go do whatever your Tuesday duties demand of you, garners more than enough reason to
C E L E B R A T E.
celebrate because you are alive and you get to experience today;
you get to feel the sting of the crisp January air on your cheeks
& hear the laughter of those around you
& share knowledge, ideas, stress, thoughts, fears, gossip, looks, jokes, laughs, etc. with your co-workers & friends
you get to kiss the faces of your loved ones,
& you get to hug them sooooo tight
You get to figure out what the hell you’re making for dinner,
or you get to order takeout, eat fast food, or have the same left overs, again,
you get to go to or drop off at; soccer practice, dance, basketball practice, baseball practice, football practice, etc.
you get to do homework, or grade papers, or write case notes, or come up with interventions, or plan appointments, or figure out what renovations need to be done, or market house’s, or do whatever it is that your job entails,
& perhaps most importantly of all;
You get to say “I love you” to those that mean the most to you
AND
you get to hear them say it back... so celebrate because of all of the above and because of the sole fact that today you get to;
walk, & talk, & breathe, & eat, & work, & sing, & dance, & laugh, & joke, & fail, & cry, & scream, & run, & swim, & jump & smile, & love, & live!!! YOU GET TO FREAKING LIVE
& if that’s not something to celebrate than we don’t know what is.
-Yours Trulee (this was the original ending, but in light of our current situation, we’ve added more)

Soak up these words,
Let them burn bright in your mind,
Tattoo them to your brain,
let each word act as a knife, piercing gratitude into you
Let the sharpness of them sting,
let the heaviness of them crash over you,
Each one splashing into your consciousness,
awakening you to the beauty that exists in your everyday tasks,
and
like waves rearing up before crashing down onto the beach,
let these words,
pound into you, as if you are the shore,
let them crash relentlessly into your mind, as they would a concrete sea wall,
and just as waves send salty spray over railings, reminding the air of their harshness,
let these words send ripples into your veins, reminding you of the value intrinsic in them.
Let them remind you of what a privilege and blessing it is to carry out those tiresome, habitual tasks..
And from this day forward,
carry them with you,
as a constant reminder:
of just how lucky you are to be able to go to work, do homework, hug your loved ones, figure out what you're making for dinner,
of just how lucky you are to
carry out the tasks that your everyday life entails.
Let them be a constant reminder
of just how precious life is,
and may you never again, take them for granted.
