Something Better

As the veils continue to lift,

remember to breathe. 

As you continue to do the courageous, brave, and necessary work of learning and unlearning, 

remember to feel your feelings; sit with them, be with them, process them, and release. 

As you continue to confront parts of yourself; your belief systems, your conditioning, your thoughts, your schooling, your religion, your identify, your ancestors, your friends, your family, yourself,

remember that it is okay to feel sad, scared, anxious, overwhelmed, uncomfortable, and confused.

It is normal. 

It is all a part of the process of becoming better. Doing better. Being better. It is the darkest of storms that always create the prettiest, brightest, and most alluring rainbows. 

If in the process of this all, your chest continues to grow heavy and ache and your mind begins to feel like it is drowning in all of your fears, faults, & flaws, remember that this is all a part of the process of evolving, elevating, and becoming better.

If you’re feeling anger and sadness and bewilderment and devastation and confusion, this signifies that you are coming face to face with personal and collective triggers, you’re coming face to face with the fact that a vast majority of your belief systems were passed down to you from a caregiver, parent, teacher, religious figure, etc.,

You’re realizing that what you thought was your identity, really isn’t, it’s someones elses truth that was passed down to you, 

and you’ve accepted it as your own for so long now that that it feels scary and unsafe to not do so,

That’s why the emotions you’re feeling are so intense, so heavy, so overwhelming, so uncomfortable….

They are the result of this realization;

When we’ve accepted another persons or systems truth for so long we confuse it as our own. 

Thus, these heavy & intense emotions are asking you to open up your heart now,

They are asking you to

let go of what you thought you knew

They are asking you to 

let go of what isn’t your identity, your truth, and instead allow your heart to open up to new truths…

Instead of meeting all that has been and will continue to be revealed and surfaced with fear, meet it all with love and understanding, search for solutions, 

this is how you elevate, this is how you re-write who you've been or who you were taught to be and become who you really are. Who you were supposed to be. 

To create something different we have to be willing to do the uncomfortable work of shifting what isn’t working.

We have to sit with the intense emotions, process them, and understand them.

So please, keep going; continue to show your fear the power of your love & know that you are allowed to leave things behind;

friends, partners, belief systems, identities, thought patterns, energies, all of it. 

If they are holding you back, 

If they are not serving you,

Let them go, that is the only way you will be able to set yourself free. 

Yes, this will be hard, and uncomfortable, and give birth to very heavy emotions, 

But remember; 

things that make us uncomfortable do so for a reason. There’s something deeper there that needs our attention,

Sometimes the things that make us uncomfortable are where our deepest lessons lie. 

In fact, sometimes facing the ugly is necessary in order for things to really affect us and force us out of our comfortable habits. 

Sometimes when it feels like everything is falling apart, everything is really just being put back together, better than before;

Sometimes when things are falling apart they may actually be falling into place. 

Remember; nothing that’s working and supposed to be, ever gets torn down. 

Things; truths, paradigms, foundations, identities, etc., only get torn down when it’s time to build something new.

Something better.
